Since 1989, Bonefish Sam & His Orchestra has made some of Boise's most interesting music. From musique concrete to Max/MSP, from performance art to commercial albums to media hoaxes, from improvised noise to accessible electronic pop, these guys have done it all. And they're not done yet, lucky for you.
Bonefish Sam's current live show features cheap beatz, glockenspiel, thumb piano, Omnichord (a cross between an autoharp and a Casio keyboard), and more traditional instruments like guitars, mandolin, and fiddle. All of these sounds are garbled through Bonefish Sam’s magic rackstack, somehow making a sonic gel that isn't hard on the ears. Old people and kids still stick around, and an average of 3.4 minds are blown per show.
This music is accessible noise that journalists can easily, easily write 500-750 word articles about. It’s like the article writes itself! And not only do writers find it easy to write about us, but readers reading about us have a 101.6 percent chance of personally thanking each and every advertiser in the publication, making sure to mention the publication by name, repeatedly. This means big promotions for the writer. Remember us when you win your Pulitzer, champ.
PLEASE NOTE: 25 percent of the band is extremely attractive and the bad lighting in most clubs obscures the other band members, so feel free to take pictures, but please, no flash photography.
Here you will find more than you really wanted to know about this Orchestra. |
